Main area activities in July

Work on the National Children's Hospital project continues in its main areas: design, administrative, and organizational. During the recent period:

• Regarding the procedure for design and author's supervision, the existing legal framework is being followed. A ruling from the Supreme administrative court is pending, with a hearing scheduled for mid-September 2026.
• The final deadline for the hospital remains unchanged. The project implementation schedule has been updated to include all necessary activities and stages without changing the planned completion date of 2030.
• Support and a positive opinion have been received from the Bulgarian Medical Association  regarding the preparation of the necessary documentation under the Medical Facilities Act for the future National Children's Hospital.
• The necessary steps for the future medical facility are being prepared as early as the investment project stage. Required decisions and opinions regarding the legal-organizational form, type, and financing of the hospital have been requested to submit the documentation for a complex evaluation under the Medical Facilities Act. In parallel, a notification has been sent to the Ministry of environment and water to determine the applicable environmental procedure.
• The procedure for selecting a project management and investor control team is also being prepared. A market consultation has been conducted, and its results have been published in CAIS EOP. The future team will play a key role in the management, coordination, and control of the investment project's implementation throughout its various stages.
• Work is underway on integrating the Prosthetics Center into the future hospital complex and preparing a concept for its reconstruction and optimal use.
• The 2025 Annual Financial Report has been approved, and an extraordinary audit of the design public procurement found no violations in the preparation of the documentation.
